  5. STEP 05Connect it to practice

Facts and stories

Key Facts present short nursing learning points. Fun Facts add health and science curiosities. Humanitarian Stories add a human perspective on care; historical accounts and fictional or composite teaching stories should be read according to their labels. The Today view selects an available key fact, story and fun fact.

Visual explanations and medication cards

The Visual Library offers diagrams and explainers that connect concepts. Drug Cards organize medication-study material such as purpose, safety, monitoring and patient teaching. These are study references: current product labeling and local clinical policy govern care decisions.

Two searchable public references

Lab Values and Nursing Abbreviations belong to Resources. Lab intervals depend on the laboratory, method and patient context; use the reporting laboratory’s interval in practice. Abbreviations need context and do not make unsafe medication notation acceptable.

Daily free practice

Question of the Day provides one question and answer explanation. The ECG challenge uses five synthetic strips with reasoning. The Nursing Flip Challenge offers two quick concept cards. Fun Zone provides short nursing review activities. These public activities can be opened without an account.

Calculation and study support

Free Tools also includes IV flow-rate and infusion-time practice, a medication-dosage calculator and practice coach, a study-plan generator, and a clinical-judgment rationale-review toolkit. Educational calculators do not select or validate an individual patient’s dose.

What access do I need?

Free challenges, calculators, the study-plan generator and public references have their own public pages. The Library menu lists current collections. Account-based tracking and deeper practice features depend on access. A source link supports checking a claim; it does not certify every Library entry.

Common questions

Where are lab values and abbreviations?

Both appear under Resources, with direct public pages. They are references rather than calculation tools.

Are ECG strips recordings from patients?

The daily ECG challenge uses synthetic educational rhythm strips, not identifiable patient recordings.
