Start with the state where you intend to practise
Use NCSBN’s internationally educated applicant information to find your destination requirements. Nursing licensure and immigration or permission to work are separate processes.
- Exact state board.
- Required education and registration evidence.
- Accepted evaluation and language routes, where required.

Keep the full applicant history visible
List your nursing school, each licensing authority and any later employers separately. If a requested record is not obtainable, ask the receiving regulator what alternative evidence it accepts before paying a third party.
- Original nursing education.
- Every requested registration record.
- Subsequent education or practice evidence when requested.
Follow the examination and later registration steps
Track regulator assessment, Pearson registration, ATT and your official result. After passing, confirm completion of the remaining licence requirements with the board before accepting work as a licensed RN.
- Use official application references.
- Keep receipts and decisions.
- Prepare questions for supervised employer orientation.
