NCLEX-RN Results, Quick Results and Retakes in the USA
Distinguish unofficial Quick Results, state-board licence status, Candidate Performance Reports and state-specific retake conditions.
Quick answer
Eligible U.S. licensure candidates in participating jurisdictions may purchase unofficial Quick Results after two business days for $7.95. Only the regulator provides official results and practice authority. Retakes follow the board’s conditions as well as national minimum rules.
Use the result that answers your actual question
Quick Results answers an examination-result question unofficially. It does not answer whether a licence has been issued or whether you may practise. Check the regulator’s official result and licence/registration status for those decisions.
Two business days is not a guarantee of exactly 48 elapsed hours. If results are not available, follow Pearson and board instructions rather than making a new registration payment to test a pop-up. Exam stopping length and payment behaviour do not establish a reliable personal outcome.
- Use the official participating-jurisdiction list.
- Do not represent Quick Results as a nursing licence.
- Keep card and candidate-account details private.

A retake has administrative and learning steps
NCSBN describes a 45-day minimum between attempts and up to eight attempts per year for candidates using participating regulators, while boards can impose stricter limits. The new ATT reflects the relevant waiting period. You must re-register and pay as instructed.
Florida, for example, requires board-approved remediation after three consecutive failures. State conditions can include more than a waiting period. Ask the intended board about your complete attempt history before choosing a new date.
- Use the relevant re-examination application, not a duplicate first application.
- Check waiting periods, attempt limits and remediation.
- Budget the new registration and applicable board costs.

Use feedback without turning it into a prediction
The Candidate Performance Report supports unsuccessful candidates in identifying areas relative to the passing standard. Use it to prioritise learning, then review several practice sessions to locate the reasoning pattern behind an error. A report category is not a complete diagnosis of every knowledge gap.
A rebuilding routine can combine concept review, targeted questions, full rationale review and a complete NGN case. Practise why an option fits the cues. Your app analytics are study evidence, not an official NCLEX result or a guarantee for the next attempt.
- Write a short plan for recurring mistakes.
- Include all test-plan categories, not just the lowest label.
- Choose a realistic 30-, 60- or 90-day routine.
